How do I measure relationship coverage across my customer base?

Measure customer relationship coverage by relevant decision roles and meaningful engagement, not total contacts or activity alone. Record who your team knows, the evidence and the current relationship owner. Use the results to identify dependence on one champion and gaps around renewal or expansion, while recognising that communication frequency does not prove trust or satisfaction.

Define the roles that matter

For each account, identify sponsors, economic buyers, users, technical stakeholders and other roles appropriate to your product. Avoid applying the same committee template to every customer.

Assess the relationships

Record recent meaningful interaction, known familiarity, participation and whether a connector confirms the relationship. Keep weak or inferred paths separate from established account relationships.

Find actionable gaps

An account may have many contacts but only one person who understands the value. Another may have fewer contacts and strong engagement across the actual decision team. Review the consequence of losing any single relationship.

Act with customer context

Work with customer success to develop appropriate new relationships, address value gaps and update the account plan. Do not contact every stakeholder simply to increase a coverage score.

Orbb can support research into relevant people and possible paths. The coverage report should produce a named owner and useful next action, while remaining distinct from a renewal prediction or a guarantee that an account with several contacts is safe.
