How do I address an enterprise buyer choosing no decision?

Address no decision by understanding the buyer's perceived cost and risk of changing versus staying with the current approach. Clarify the problem, evidence and priorities rather than adding pressure. A peer conversation can inform the evaluation, but an introduction or stronger relationship does not create urgency where the business case is insufficient.

Understand the status quo

Ask what happens if the buyer does nothing, which risks they associate with change and what would justify prioritising the project. Do not assume lack of action means they failed to understand your pitch.

Make trade-offs concrete

Use evidence appropriate to the account and be explicit about uncertainty. Discuss implementation, operational effort and the limitations of your offer. Avoid invented savings or deadlines.

Involve relevant roles

Work with the champion to include those who own the outcome and change effort. A relevant customer reference may help explain practical experience without replacing the buyer's own analysis.

Accept an honest outcome

If the timing or value is insufficient, agree when a reassessment would be useful and remove unsupported forecast assumptions. Repeated executive escalations may damage a legitimate future relationship.
