How can I reach the economic buyer when I only know one person in the account?

Reach the economic buyer by understanding who owns the budget and making a relevant case for their involvement, usually with your existing contact's help. If another professional route is appropriate, coordinate it transparently. An external introduction can open access, but secretly bypassing the champion or asking for escalation before value is clear can damage the opportunity.

Establish the purpose of the conversation

Explain the outcome, commercial question or decision that requires the economic buyer's input. Ask your contact how the budget process works and when involving that person would be useful.

Help the champion make the case

Provide a concise summary of the problem, expected value and requested discussion. A champion is more likely to support a purposeful conversation than a vague request to "meet the boss".

Research additional routes carefully

Look for confirmed relationships through executives, customers or partners. Coordinate with the account owner and existing contact before using a separate path. The goal is broader alignment, not a surprise escalation.

Qualify what the access reveals

Confirm budget ownership, priorities, timing and decision requirements. The economic buyer may delegate evaluation or have no current reason to engage.

Orbb can help research relevant stakeholders and coordinate appropriate introductions. Access to a senior person is useful only when the conversation serves the buyer's process and leads to a meaningful next step.
