Should we ask a customer for introductions after resolving a major issue?

Resolve and verify the customer's experience before considering an introduction request. A repaired issue does not automatically create greater loyalty or a good moment to ask. Work with the customer owner, confirm that value and trust have recovered, and make any later request relevant and optional rather than treating recovery as a referral trigger.

Finish the recovery work

Check that the issue is actually resolved, expectations are clear and the customer has had time to experience the improvement. A closed ticket is not proof that the relationship is healthy.

Separate support from advocacy

Do not make assistance or compensation conditional on an introduction. A thank-you from the customer should not be silently interpreted as permission to ask for their network.

Assess a later request individually

Consider relevance, relationship preferences and current customer circumstances. Research a specific suitable target and confirm the connection before asking.

Learn from the account

Capture the cause and follow-through in the customer process. Avoid publishing a universal claim that customers become more loyal after a failure.

Orbb's Referral Agent can support an agreed introduction workflow, but customer success should retain judgement over suitability and timing. Automation should not turn a service recovery event into an indiscriminate commercial request.
