How it works

How do I automate asking colleagues for warm introductions?

Automate introduction research, request routing, drafting, reminders and outcome tracking, while keeping colleagues in control of whether they introduce you. An internal request can come from a clearly identified agent or programme owner. The important boundary is approval: do not impersonate a colleague or contact their network without an agreed basis and permission.

Design the workflow around a decision

  1. Identify a target person and a possible connector.
  2. Show the connector the supporting evidence and why the conversation may be useful.
  3. Offer clear options: approve, decline, correct the relationship or defer.
  4. Provide an editable forwardable note.
  5. Track whether the introduction was sent and what happened afterwards.

Automated internal asks can work when employees understand the programme and know who is accountable. They do not have to be manually written by a salesperson every time.

Automate follow-up without pressure

Use a limited reminder cadence and stop when the colleague declines or says the relationship is unsuitable. Avoid asking several people for the same target simultaneously. A lack of response is not permission to send an introduction on someone's behalf.

Measure completed steps

Track approvals, delivered introductions, buyer responses, held meetings and qualified opportunities. Separate failure to find a credible connection from failure to complete an approved request.
