How do I identify the best connectors in our professional network?

Identify strong connectors by relevant relationships, verified familiarity and willingness to help, not follower counts or seniority alone. Match them to particular targets and asks. A person can be a useful connector for one account and unsuitable for another, so keep evidence and preferences specific rather than assigning a universal influence score.

Start with the target

Identify the person and business problem, then research who may know them. Look across customers, employees, investors, advisors and partners. A broad network is less useful than the right relationship for the request.

Separate three judgements

Can the connector reach the target? Would the connector consider helping? Is this request relevant and appropriate? None follows automatically from the others.

Confirm directly

Ask about familiarity, current contact and preferred approach. Allow correction and refusal. A public overlap can support the question, but should not be treated as the answer.

Keep participation sustainable

Record requests and preferences, coordinate through relationship owners and avoid concentration on a few willing people. Give feedback about useful outcomes.

Orbb can support research and request coordination. If a score is used, ask which evidence informs it, how it is validated and how uncertainty is shown. The business goal is an appropriate completed conversation, not a leaderboard of whose personal network is most valuable.
